Gearing Up

In light of my most recent good news, I'm thinking it's time to delve into some steampunk style wood burnings...

In two weeks I'll be performing belly dance on stage with steampunk band 'Abney Park' in Portland at the Wonder Ballroom.  Woohoo!!!

Now the question... how to accurately depict Victorian style industry and anachronistic technology revolving mainly around metal and gears... on wood.  As I learned with the trains, getting the wood to look like metal is not easy.  And, as I've mentioned before...  machinery is full of far too many little parts and pieces that take a hell of a long time to create in the burnings.

This just makes me wonder - if what I'm going for is awesomeness - is this satisfactory?
